Blacktown Shorts is a returning short film festival held by Blacktown Arts that commissions and curates original short film from local Blacktown and Western Sydney filmmakers.

WINNER - Best Arts Program, FBI SMAC Awards 2024

2024 - August 8th, Playhouse Theatre, Sydney Opera House
Blacktown Arts partnered with the Sydney Opera House to commission and screen five original short films and three alumni films to a sold out audience.

2023 - June 1st, Skyline Drive-In, Blacktown​
Blacktown Shorts 2023 was an original suite of commissioned films that premiered as part of Magnify Festival at the iconic Blacktown Skyline Drive-In.

2019 - October, Blacktown Arts Centre
Blacktown Shorts 2 continued the film festival in-house at Blacktown Arts Centre, with seven additional films programmed that showcased the kaleidoscope of experiences Western Sydney has to offer. Screened daily October 2019.

2019 - August 24th, Blacktown Showground
Blacktown Shorts showcased unique stories through the lenses of five local filmmakers and screened as part of the Magnify Festival at an outdoor pop-up screening at the Showground.
