Blacktown Shorts showcases unique stories through the lenses of five local filmmakers: Herbert Leota, Wayne Tunks, Lily Cheng, Sabina Giado and Thuy Nguyen. From an exploration of diversity in the fashion industry, to an intimate love letter to the Sri Lankan Muslim diaspora; celebrate our emerging local film industry in a cosy afternoon of film, nibbles and live music. Screening on August 24th, 2019 as part of the Magnify Festival.

Blacktown Shorts 2 continues the film festival in-house at Blacktown Arts Centre, with seven additional films being programmed that showcase the kaleidoscope of experiences Western Sydney has to offer. Screening daily October 2019.

Blacktown Shorts returns in 2023, with an original suite of commissioned films to premiere as part of Magnify Festival in June 2023.
